Temperament: Loyal, alert, friendly, independent, resilient, and adaptable. Known for strong family bonding and dependable working ability.

Energy Level: High; thrives with daily vigorous exercise, mental stimulation, and room to roam or work.

Good with Children: Yes (especially in active homes that respect the dog’s space)

History: The Yakutian Laika is an ancient Arctic breed developed by the indigenous Yakut people of northeastern Siberia. Bred for sledding, reindeer herding, hunting, and guarding, these dogs played a vital role in survival in extreme cold and rugged landscapes. Today, although still rare outside Russia, the Yakutian Laika is gaining recognition for its endurance, versatility, and affectionate yet independent nature, making it a remarkable working partner and devoted family companion.
